Replacing the Steam Generators at SONGS is planned for 2009–2010, at a cost of $680 million, involves massive challenges, beginning with moving the generators to and from the plant. The new steam generators will be moved on ships and barges, and possibly on trucks, to the plant site. This article talks about 3D software used in planning this project.
