EOn partners Areva and Siemens on UK plants

EOn has signed a letter of intent with Areva and Siemens to cooperate on the construction of new UK nuclear power plants in the first partnership announcement from players circling the new build market.

Areva boosts its UK presence

Areva of France has acquired nuclear safety assessment company RM Consultants in order to strengthen its presence in the UK. In addition, it is relaunching its corporate advertising campaign in Europe, with special focus on the country.

Firms get set for new build

Companies involved in the push for new nuclear power in the UK reacted favourably to the government invitation to submit their plans for new build. Areva has announced that it wants to build four to six large reactors in the country.
